Thanksgiving

The word thanksgiving can mean so much to different people. There are some that when the word thanksgiving is mentioned it brings up sadness and heartache, but for others it brings happy and joyous memories. I would fall in the latter category. Growing up Thanksgiving was a time for family and food and that still holds true today. From the moment I found out I was pregnant that was all I wanted for my kids as well. As I sit here almost 14 years into the journey of motherhood I have come to find that it is more important to instill in my kids that family is important every day of the year. That getting together with family only around the holidays is indeed important but so is staying close to family throughout the year. So later today when we sit down to eat turkey and all the fixin’s I will be thankful for my family, that even though we may not always see eye to eye I know they are always there.
